Our Rabbi
RIJC looks forward to the leadership of Rabbi Robert Golub, who has joined our congregation in Fall 2003. Rabbi Golub was born and raised in Los Angeles. He moved to New York to continue his rabbinical studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1974 and has lived in the area since then (with the exception of the seven years that he and his family lived in Israel)
After years as a pulpit rabbi in Long Island and New Jersey, he made a career switch to Jewish organizational life in 1995 and became the Executive Director of MERCAZ USA, the Zionist arm of the Conservative Movement. Nevertheless, he has maintained the connection with synagogue life by serving as a part-time or High Holyday rabbi. He looks forward to sharing his insights on Jewish life over the coming year.
