February 15-28, 2001
Assault 2/24, 10 River Road. Arrest. PSD officers responded to location for unknown condition. Upon arrival victim and perp were in apartment. Victim stated that perp broke down her door, entered apartment and hit her in the back of her head. Victim, who is pregnant, refused to be transported to the hospital for further observation. Perp was charged with burglary, assault, criminal mischief (property damage approx. $1200). Trespass 2/17, 540 Main St. Arrest (3). Officer saw three males standing for over five minutes in F stairwell. Other officers responded, assisted in apprehending them. Each was issued a C summons and released. 2/21, 546 Main St. Arrest (3). Officer observed three males remain unlawfully and without permission at location. Males were taken into custody. While conducting search, officer recovered an ice pick from one perp and a four-inch silver blade from another. Perp # 1 and #2 were processed and perp #3 was "C" summonsed for trespassing. 2/26, hallway, 560 Main St. Arrest. PSD officer, while patrolling location, did observe perp whom she had previously advised to exit location since he was not a resident. At this time officer requested additional. Perp attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended in front of 536 Main St., placed in custody charged with Criminal Trespass, resisting arrest and harassment. Perp # 2 attempted to prevent perp #1 from being taken into custody and therefore was placed under arrest for obstruction of governmental administration. Criminal Mischief 2/17, hallway, 560 Main St. Sgt. responded to apartment, saw obscenities written on door. Victim stated her family does not have any difficulties with anybody. 2/19, old bike room, 540 Main St. Officer responded to report of door tampered with, found door had been forced open, searched area for further damage with RIHM porter. Officer opened door and fixed door. RIHM super responded, room was empty. 2/24, Patio, 576 Main St. Reporter notified PSD of new damages to wooden patio fence. Victim stated that unknown children were pulling the wooden boards the night before. A search was conducted with negative results. Harassment 2/17, 595 Main St. Officer responded to apartment regarding ongoing situation about someone knocking at door and running away. Resident showed tape of above mentioned and saw male at victimžs door. NYPD responded, prepared report. Tape was secured at PSD. 2/19, 560 Main St. Aggravated. Female phoned PSD, stated unknown male has been phoning her and threatening her and family. Sgt. responded to said location, spoke with perp who hung up phone. Prepared report. Victim was advised to contact phone company to have calls traced. 2/21, Street. Reporter stated that for the past two weeks he has been verbally harassed by the same individual. A search was conducted with negative results. Larceny 2/23, Motorgate, 688 Main St. Victim stated she parked her vehicle at location. Upon her return she discovered that the four hubcaps were missing. Search conducted with negative results. NYPD report refused. 2/25, Motorgate, 688 Main St. Victim reported her radio antenna was removed from her vehicle without permission. Search conducted with negative results. NYPD report refused. 2/26, Supermarket, 686 Main St. Reporter stated that a group of youths entered store and removed beers without paying for them. A search was conducted with negative results. Store manager could not identify the perps. Disabled Elevator 2/25, Elevator, 510 Main St. Anonymous female reported stuck elevator at location. PSD responded, elevator door opened on its own. No injuries to report. Investigation 2/20, opposite 705 Main St. Officers were securing comfort station, when they saw lights out in menžs room. They checked and booth was locked from the inside. Other officers and NYPD responded. There was a male inside using facilities. There was no forced entry. Person was warned not to turn off lights. 2/21, Lobby, 560 Main St. Reporter stated she was being followed by two black males into her building. She was escorted to her apt, area was clear of people. Checked area with negative results. 2/23, Lobby, 575 Main St. PSD responded for possible homeless person sleeping in stairwell. Upon arrival several bags were found containing clothing, foot wear, hygiene products and mail. Tenant (sister of property owner) was contacted. She retrieved her botheržs property but refused to discuss matter with PSD. 2/24, Construction Site, 500 Main St. Reporter called PSD to report three females at location possibly trespassing. Upon arrival project manager advised PSD that the three females entered location and approached him and asked him questions regarding the tree removal. They were escorted out by the project manager. Sgt observed the three females leaving the scene and escorted them to PSD. Sgt advised them that entering onto the site within the fence can result in an arrest for trespassing. Missing/Found Child 2/16, 625 Main St. Officer responded to apartment for report of missing underage boy. Mother stated she had left him with unidentified female and another child after school (PS 217). NYPD responded, entire area was searched. Child was with tenant in apartment, who refused to give any information, because of diplomatic status. Child was reunited with mother. Missing Property 2/19, exit E, 625 Main St. Male informed officer he had left 2 grocery bags unattended, when he returned they were missing, approx. value $15 to $20. Power Outage 2/26, Eastwood, 540 Main St. PSD received numerous calls regarding power outage at location. PSD responded and all Emergency agencies contacted, FDNY, EMS, NYPD and Con- Edison. PSD and Ems located and assisted all tenants with respiratory equipment. All tenants with medical conditions were also checked by PSD and EMS. RIHM supervisors also on scene. Con-Edison emergency units corrected condition. RIHM super injured and was transported to hospital. Recovered Property 2/28, PSD, 552 Main St. Reporter came to PSD to retrieve his property which he had lost on Monday 2/26/01. Reckless Endangerment 2/16, east seawall, 540 Main St. While officer was driving patrol car northbound under the 540 overhang, unidentified object hit the car. He requested Sgt. to scene. They found 52-inch piece of metal window on ground. Car did not have new damage. Officers searched from 4 to 7 floors, found missing piece opposite apartment 549, #444. RIHM super responded. 2/19, east seawall, 576 Main St. Female in-house, said underage son was playing, when a large can of glue was thrown from above, exploded and sprayed the boy in his hair and eyes. Boy was not injured. Mother cleaned him, refused EMS. 2/19, street, 625 Main St. While on foot patrol, officer heard metallic item crash down approx. 20 feet behind him, checked and found radiator cover in middle of street. Officer saw windows open on 9th, 10th, 11th and 18th floors. Officer checked floor, found piece had been taken from 9 floor radiator, which he gave to concierge. Suspicious Person 02/21, 560 Main St. Reporter came to PSD for a follow-up on past complaint regarding the two males who followed her into her building. She gave a clothing description and refused to file a report with the 114th Pct. Unsecured Premises 2/16, office, 501 Main St. Officer noticed front door unsecured, checked area, all appeared in order, front door was secured. 2/17, RIHM, 552 Main St. Sgt. noticed RIHM office door unsecured. Officers searched premises, all was in order. Manager was advised, super arrived, secured premises. Vehicle Accident 2/22, Arrival Deck, 688 Main St. PSD Sgt was advised by passerby that a gray vehicle had struck the Yield sign at location. Sgt did observe the vehicle with a flat tire. Driver was stopped and asked if she was injured. She reported no injuries or damages to her vehicle with the exception of a flat tire. Sgt. checked the sign for damage and found it to be serviceable and in order. 2/22, Stop Sign, 567 Main St. Vehicles #1 and #2 were both heading northbound on Main St. Vehicle #1 stopped at sign, vehicle #2 struck rear bumper causing vehicle #2's front plate to come off. No other damages or injuries to report. 2/22, Roadway, 400 Main St. School bus driver stated he had applied the brake and the back of the bus shifted and slammed into the guard rail. School bus was not transporting any passengers at that time. No injuries reported, no damages to the guard rail, minor damage to the bus. Inclement weather appeared to be the cause of the accident. 2/28, Street, 300 Main St. Queens Surface bus driver stated that while attempting to make a left-hand turn vehicle #2 failed to stop at sign causing both to collide. Both vehicles sustained damages. No injuries to report. Information exchanged. Both drivers will file report with Pct. on their own.
