Burglary/Investigation

2/5, apt., 580 Main St.  RIHM Super advised Sgt. en-route to scene that apt. door had been forced open (possibly by plain-clothed police officers) and left unsecured.  Officers responded, confirmed door had been pried open/damaged. Witness  (RIHM porter working near- by), informed officers that two men, wearing gold police-style shields, exited from apt., and had left the door open.  Officers checked unsecured apt., which was in total disarray, but officers have been to apt. in the past and it has been in disarray.

Criminal Mischief

2/4, RIOC, 513 Main St.  RIOC ACA phoned PSD notified Duty Officer that unknown person had spray-painted Eviction Notice posted on the Back Page's door.  He further stated that door was in order earlier.  Reporting officer responded and did observe said graffiti.

2/7, Child School, 566 Main St.  The School Supervisor phoned PSD, stated unknown person(s) had cracked the front door for the second time, officer responded and did see a crack in the front door.  NYPD was notified.  Officer responded, prepared report.

Larceny

2/3, Motorgate 2-B, 688 Main St.  Male non-resident phoned PSD, stated he had parked his car at Motorgate and upon his return he noticed that the right passenger's side window had been shattered, that the car's radio was removed, and personal items had been taken.  Officer searched area for other burglarized vehicles with negative results.  NYPD responded to 911 call, prepared report.

Eviction

2/3, Back Page, 513 Main St.  Sgt. responded to the Back Page with RIOC legal counsel, the ACA, and City Marshal, to serve notice and take legal possession of the Back Page/Julie's Sports Bar, according to imposed eviction.

Investigation

2/2, 3rd-floor hall, 625/595 Main St.  Female in-house with empty glacine envelope (same is used for controlled substances), said she found it on 3 fl. hall, while walking from 625/595 exit.  Duty Officer asked officer to respond to scene, latter checked hall, nearby stairwells for suspicious items with negative results.

2/7, apt., 580 Main St.  While officer was on patrol, officer observed two males changing the locks of an apt. at scene.  Officer asked them how they had gained entry to apt. The 1st male replied, he had broken the locks.  Officer notified Duty Officer, three NYPD officers, PSD officers  and RIHM Super responded. The male was removed from apt., warned not to return until issue is solved with RIHM in Housing Court, and if he returns, he will be arrested.  Locks were changed by RIHM Super.  No charges filed by RIHM.

2/8, hallway front of apt., 560 Main St.  Female complainant in-house, stated that for the past five months, unknown person(s) has repeatedly removed the light bulb from in front of her apt. and that she has notified RIHM.  Officer notified RIHM Super, who will place a screw in the cover in an endeavor to make it tamper-resistant.  Following Sgts. to be notified of incident so further attention can be paid to the matter.

2/11, apt., 580 Main St.  NYPD officer in-house, reported that male resident had been arrested earlier on 2/11.  Perp. is under investigation for impersonating an officer.  Sgt. stated that while interviewing perp., latter had informed him he had a small handgun in his apt.  RIHM Super accompanied PSD, NYPD officers to apt., who did indeed found and unloaded gun but no bullets.  Officer removed two cellular phones from apt.  Apt. was secured by Super.  NOTE: Perp. is involved in Housing Court dispute with RIHM over custody of an apt.  (There have been two Inestigative Reports written on 2/5 and 2/7 respectively in relation to said dispute.)

2/12, school gym, 645 Main St.  Lost property.  Underage male in-house, said money (US$130) had bene taken from his pants pocket as he played basketball.  Incident occurred at the Beacon Program. Sgt. contacted youth's mother, who confirmed her son's statement.  Second male youth denied having taken the money, and there were no witnesses to substantiate that anybody had taken any money.

Property Damage

2/14, street, 540 Main St.  Unknown male in-house, stated there was shattered glass at scene.  Officer responded, observed glass debris and shattered pane at over-hang.  RIHM Super removed debris.  Officer went to Capri, spoke with owner who had not seen or heard anything.  Officer examined concrete base below pane, and saw a piece of masonry in pile of glass.  There were no injuries or further damage to report.

Unsecured Door

2/6, apt., 546 Main St.  While on patrol, officer observed an unsecured door at scene.  Officer tried to contact resident by ringing bell with negative results; notified Duty Officer, requested Sergeant's presence, who responded.  They both searched apt., which appeared in order.  RIHM Super was notified/responded, locked and secured apt.

Unsecured Vehicle

2/13, Motorgate 6-A, adj. elev., 688 Main St.  During these dates and locations at Motorgate, vehicles were found to be unsecured while on patrol by PSD officers.

Vehicle Accident

2/9, Motorgate, 688 Main St.  Officers responded to phone call, male said he was pulling into a parking space, when a male driving a beige car packed up into complainant's van and left the scene and he was going to 114th Pct. to report same.  Officer spoke with Motorgate attendant to obtain information regarding the vehicle which left the scene with negative results.
