Misty

With the change of seasons, residents will again be seeing Nancy Brown on Main Street – but something will be missing. She explains:

This was my Misty. She was my baby, my sweetheart, my love, my favorite companion. She was the best dog in the world; I told her that all the time. From the time she was a little puppy, nine and a half weeks old, she never did anything wrong. She didn’t chew on the furniture or shoes or cry at night or bark too much, and she was housebroken from day one. She lived with me for over 12 years, and every one of those days were precious to me. She made me laugh and she made me smile, and she gave me unconditional love. Everywhere I went, Misty came with me – even to church, where she sat behind me in my chair through the entire Mass and never made a sound.

She was so smart, so clever. She knew when it was time to go out, or time for her cookie, or time for dinner. She even knew when it was time for her eye medicine, and let us know. She listened to everything I said to her, looking me in the eyes and not turning away until I was finished talking to her. And she understood it all.

Misty was one of a kind, very special to me and to everyone who knew her, and now she is gone and I miss her so very much and would do anything to have her back so I could laugh and smile again. Be happy, my Misty, run around, play with your friends and eat all the cookies your little heart desires. I miss you very, very much and think of you all the time and I remember how happy you made me and what a wonderful baby you were. You were the best! I’ll always love you and I’ll never forget you, never, ever!
