Officially Open:
A New Atrium at Coler

A ribbon-cutting Monday at the Coler Campus of Coler-Goldwater Hospital
marked the opening of a renovated patient-resident Atrium. The project
was completed with $250,000 in City funds made available by then City
Council Speaker Gifford Miller. At the time, current Councilmember
Jessica Lappin was on Miller’s staff, and she worked on the project. The
Atrium now has a new fresh-air heating, ventilating, and
air-conditioning system, as well as new thermopane windows and new
flooring. The Coler Auxiliary outfitted the Atrium wtih furniture,
including tables and chairs and state-of-the-art high-definition
television. Cutting the ribbon are Miller, Josephine Bolus of the City
Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) Board of Directors, Hospital
Executive Director Claude Ritman, HHC Vice President Lynda D. Curtis,
and Lappin.
