Briefly...

• Primary election voting is Tuesday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at PS/IS 217.

• The Residents Association Common Council meets Wednesday at 8:00 at the Good Shepherd Community Center, lower level. An election for Council members representing Roosevelt Island’s residential buildings is scheduled for November 7.

• On Thursday, the RIOC Board committed to some repair work in Motorgate, intended to stop leaks that now reach lower floors, even into Gristedes market; awarded $75,000 in Public Purpose Funds to Island Kids; extended the contract with Doppelmayr/CTEC for Tramway operations; and agreed, during the Town Meeting session that followed its meeting, to look at the cost of adding another bus run to allow surface transportation to keep up with the Tramway schedule. Board Chair Judith Calogero hinted that a fare increase might be necessary.
