Rats Near Island House

A resident shot these photos late last week of a rat, apparently in winter residence in or near Island House, foraging at the garbage enclosure behind Trellis. Trellis proprietor Kaie Razaghi tells The WIRE he’s aware of the problem, as is Jennifer Jones of RY Management, the company that manages Island House.
Each has contacted an exterminator, who visited Wednesday and plans another visit today (Saturday, February 24).
Rodents are often seen in the summer on the rip-rap that surrounds much of the Island. In winter, they look for warmth and sources of food, tending to migrate “inland” on the Island.
