The WIRE’s January 24 survey showed 28.7% of the Island’s streetlights to be dark at night. Not quite a month later, the number of non-working lights is up nearly six points.

A full third of the Island’s street lights are out.

North of the Octagon Park soccer field, 13 out of 26 lights are dark. Along Main Street, 10 have gone dark since the last survey; the West promenade, 7 more; south of the 59th Street Bridge, 4 more.
