Red Bus Routes July 4

Red Bus service will be free all day on the Fourth of July and will take riders as close to the Southpoint Park entrance as traffic and crowds will permit.

Starting at 6:00, seniors and disabled can board at Good Shepherd Plaza for a ride to the end of the line outside the Southpoint Park gate. From the gate, RIOC will provide transportation for the disabled and others in need of assistance, taking them from the gate to a point closer to seating. People-mover service will also be available after the event.

At times, vehicle access to the Island will be limited. Motorgate will be full by 7:30 or 8:00; after that time, only residents will be admitted.

There’s a list of prohibited items on the RIOC website at RIOC.com.

Tickets, $18, are available on the RIOC website, at Tram Plaza in Manhattan, and, on the Fourth, at the Tram ticket booth on the Island and at the Southpoint gate.

At Southpoint Park, there’ll be entertainment, including live music, after the 5:00 p.m. gate opening. Food will be sold, too.

Expect delays if you must leave the Island after the event. You’ll find lines at the Tram, and space on the subway platforms is restricted for construction.
